Roll up Roll up, get your entries in for our Club Champs

It’s that time of year again – yes entries are due for the club champs.

As well as the obvious honor, glory and shiny cups up for grabs, the winners of the men’s and women’s singles will be able to put themselves forward to represent our Club at the Champ of the Champs tournament for club champions across the region.

Entries in some of our club champs events have been  a bit light in recent years so let’s change that.   To help promotesingles entries (and provide a bit of flexibility around things like Easter, the Wellie Vets tournament, and school holidays) singles draws will be released by Friday 29 March.

Players will then be responsible for scheduling and completing their first-round singles match by  Wednesday 10 April (unless otherwise agreed with the Club Captains). Round two matches should be completed no later than Wed 17 April (unless otherwise agreed with the Club Captains).  Factors such as weather, size of draws; and impact on other players will be considered where more flexibility is asked for.  We will be running club days throughout April but will be making a couple of courts available for club champs matches  Courts will also be available all day on Saturdays and on Sunday mornings (barring any interclub catch up matches).

Men’s Doubles will be held on Sunday 7 April– all day

Mixed Doubles will be held on Sunday 14 April– all day

Women’s Doubles – to be arranged amongst the players

We are intending to have singles  finals completed by the end of April, ideally on the weekend of 27 and 28 April

Format, unless otherwise advised will be best of 3 tie breaker sets, with full deuces.

Please get your entries in as soon as possible and no later than Wednesday 27 March.

To enter please put your name up on the list at the club house or entries can be emailed to  Please indicate who your partner is or put partner required and please provide your contact phone number.

Come on, you know you want to!!!!

Many thanks

Jennie and Robbie

Club Captains.
